Vocabulary

Click on words to hear them pronounced. Hover your cursor over them to see an English gloss. There is a slight delay before the gloss appears. This is a great way to review and practice vocabulary. Try to guess the English gloss before it appears. Review the vocabulary in small groups until you can say the gloss for each word before it can display.

For some words there is additional grammatical information displayed. This all will be explained in class so you don’t have to worry about prior to the course. For those of you who have had some Greek before here is the explanation of that information. For nouns, the nominative singular form is listed first, and then the genitive form (to let you know if there is a root change). If the genitive root doesn't have a change only the genitive ending will be listed preceded by a dash. Finally, there is an article (to let you know the gender). For adjectives, the three nominative singular forms are listed, which represent all three genders.
