Terms and Conditions for Beginning Greek Online Web Class

Overview

Since the class only meets once a week for two hours, students have a relatively high level of responsibility for keeping up with the course. Homework is assigned each week and students can always to submit questions and answers, but students will not have daily reminders to work on that homework. The course will also quiz the students every once in a while and the course finishes with the National Biblical Greek Exam. Students can see the results of these quizzes and may request an overall summary of their performance at the end of the course. Of course, the more active a student is in class the more informative the instructor can be.

The course is a year-long (30 session) course. Greek is a type of subject where each session builds upon previous sessions. So if we fill a class up (and keep others from joining) and then have students drop the course we cannot fill those vacancies partway through the year, yet the overhead for running the course remains the same. For this reason we have students pay for the entire year up front and then have strict policies regarding refunds. However, we are so confident that you will enjoy the course that we do offer an initial trial period (see below).

Guarantee and Refund Policies

Guarantee for system compatibility:

Before the class begins we set up a number of practice sessions to make sure your computer works properly with the conferencing system. Most often all computers and internet connections work (even dial-up servers) Rarely, students in rural areas and on dial-up don't have a fast enough ping rate for the audio. In these cases or for other system issues discovered before the actual class begins, we offer a full refund.

Guarantee (3 Week Trial):

In the event that a student wishes to withdraw from a web class, here are the conditions and regulations. We are so convinced that you will be satisfied with the web classes that students may consider the first three classes as a type of try out period. If a student wishes to withdraw at any time prior to the fourth offered class, he/she may do so and receive a full refund minus $50 to cover overhead from registration and the conferencing system.

Refunds

For those who withdraw after the third week, the refund is $100 until the eleventh week of class after which there is no refund. (If you work out a payment plan there is no refund after the trial period.) This is only available if a student withdraws and requests this refund prior to the eleventh offered class. All withdrawals must be requested in writing using the contact us program which sends a dated email to both parties.

Minimum and Maximum Class Sizes

In order to ensure the best learning environment the maximum class size is 20. If less than 10 student register for a course the instructor has the discretion to cancel the course in which case everyone will receive a full refund. (This has never happened before.)
