circumstantial adv. clause
ἐπί + dat. Pple. D.o. πρός + genitive Subj.
(Upon receiving that letter from her father,) [the potter's
subj. verb d.o.
daughter summoned her mother.]
In the above exercise, I am confused whether the participle, "receiving" is part of a simple circumstantial adverbial clause or a genitive absolute.
Any suggestions? Thanking you in advance,
Christopher Shelton

Χαῖρε, ὦ Χριστόφορε,
Since this “receiving” is performed by the potter’s daughter the participle should agree with the potter’s daughter in this sentence. So it should not be a genitive absolute.
I’d suggest:
Having-received that (the-)letter from the father, the of-the potter daughter summoned her mother.
