Hi, does anyone know of a pretty concrete way beside context to tell middle and passive voice apart?

If the verb is in aorist or future, then the middle and passive have different forms - but you knew that, didn't you !!

Generally it is the context that you need.

However, in the NT the middle voice is nearly always used in deponent verbs - so if the lexical form of the verb is active, then a middle/passive form will usually be read as passive, whereas if the lexical form is middle, then it should be translated as active.

This is not a rigid rule, it only works because the NT is written in Koine, which is a slightly simplified dialect of classical Greek.
