It seems to me, from my naive eyes, that the heart of the verse should read:

και προσηνεγκαν αυτω παντας τους...παραλυτικους.

Is it possible that the long interjection, with multiple participles, was added afterward, although Matthew could have been his own editor?

It's possible, but I don't see any real motivation for it.

The syntax is a bit clumsy, but that's hardly unusual in the NT.
