Well.... I probably should get going on this...
(Let's start at the very beginning, a very good place to start. When we read we begin with A...... Ok you can shut me up now =)

Hmmmm...That's one heck of a sentence. Lemme see. It's not "they" because the sentence focuses on "you". You might try "Being taught by the Lord" and "which goes up into the desert". Even if you use those changes in that sentence, the sentence itself still doesn't make much sense. (To me at least.)
