Hi all,
Here is my attempt at the exercises in chapter 19, odd numbers:
1. After receiving these things from the ones who believe in the Lord, we went out into the desert.
3. We saw them both while they were remaining in the house and after them having gone out of it.
5. We spoke these things concerning the one who had saved us.
7. After bringing to the Lord those being persecuted by the evil ruler, you departed to another place.
9. You believed in him after he had spoken these mysteries.
11. The one not having seen the Lord does not believe in him.
13. After having heard the things spoken by the Lord, they believed in him.
15. The children who had received these things from those who had heard the Lord, saw him while still being in the temple.
17. the angels who had fallen out of heaven were evil.

Thanks, Steve. It's good to compare and contemplate why or how we come up with different translations--in most cases only minor differences. Where I differed substantially, I've put my versions underneath yours. Perhaps we can discuss these in class on Thursday. (Laila)
AFTER you had brought the one who was persecuted by the evil ruler, you went out into another place.
9. You believed in him after he had spoken these mysteries.
11. The one not having seen the Lord does not believe in him.
HE WHO had not seen the Lord did not believe in him.
13. After having heard the things spoken by the Lord, they believed in him.
15. The children who had received these things from those who had heard the Lord, saw him while still being in the temple.
17. the angels who had fallen out of heaven were evil.

19.These things he answered to the ones who had brought the wine to him.
21. After having eaten and drunk the body and the blood of the Lord they will enter into the mystery of the kingdom.
AFTER they had eaten and drunk the body and blood of the Lord, they came (aorist deponent) into the mysteries.
