1. Description of Greek in a Week

Greek In A Week is an intensive presentation of the basics of the language of the New Testament within five days.

It provides essentials for understanding the New Testament. The vast majority of the church is limited to superficial Biblical language study aids. This course equips you to advance beyond Strong's Concordance.

This year will be the fifth annual presentation. John Schwandt, Fellow of Languages at New St. Andrews College developed GIAW and will be offering it at various locations across the nation again this summer.

It is attended by a variety of participants. Although attendees widely vary in age (16+) and background (e.g., students, parents, teachers, pastors), everyone is bonded by their zeal for learning Greek.

2. A few uncommon benefits of this type of program

The Greek In A Week program guarantees knowledge. Since all of the study (e.g., vocabulary and paradigm reviews) is accomplished under the immediate direction of the instructor it is impossible to come away from the week without a considerable understanding of basic Greek.

Greek In A Week provides a considerable advantage to students who plan to take Greek in the coming academic year. The student who has worked through the entire system of the language will be enabled to make the most of class by understanding the finer points of the lecture and asking insightful questions.

Greek In A Week will grant clarity of understanding to students who have lost their way amid the many paradigms presented in a normal year of Greek. When the many details of the language are stretched out over the course of a year, it is easy to lose sight of which ones are more important and how they all relate to each other (missing the forest for the trees). Students who work through all of the basic grammar in five days gain a clear understanding of how the details connect.
